Congress is back in Washington, D.C. this week. With several hearings of note taking place, America’s Credit Unions will continue to keep credit union industry priorities top-of-mind with lawmakers.

Of note, Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell will provide a semiannual monetary policy report to Congress this week, with appearances before the Senate Banking Committee and House Financial Services Committee scheduled for tomorrow and Wednesday, respectively.

Also happening this week: 

• Tomorrow, the NCUA kicks off its Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Summit in Minneapolis;  
• Tomorrow, the House Financial Services Committee will hear from Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen on the state of the international financial system;  
• Wednesday, the House Small Business Committee will hold a hearing to review the current economic landscape;
• Thursday, the agenda for the NCUA’s July board meeting will be released; and
• Friday, the House Financial Services Committee will hold a field hearing in Lexington, Ky., on financial institution-fintech partnerships.
