America’s Credit Unions (“us,” “we,” or “our”) is committed to responsible use of your personal and business information (“Information”). This Privacy Policy is an expectation you can have in all your dealings with us. This Privacy Policy is effective January 1, 2024.
1. Types of Information Collected
A. Traffic Data Collected. We automatically track and collect certain information when you visit our Site, including your: (a) Internet provider address; (b) domain server; (c) type of computer; (d) information relating to your visit (such as the time of your visit and the pages you visit) and (e) type of web browser (collectively “Traffic Data”). Traffic Data is anonymous information that does not personally identify you but is helpful for marketing purposes or for improving the content and services of the Site. We also use “cookies” to store your password and login information, so you do not have to re-enter it each time you visit the Site. A cookie is a small-encrypted data string which our Web server transfers to your hard drive to enhance the transfer of information, but which does not access or alter any data on your hard drive.
B. Personal Information Collected. In order for you to access member services and to acquire products and services that we offer, we require you to provide us with information that personally identifies you (“Personal Information”). Personal Information may include: (a) Personal Contact Data (such as your name, job title, company name, telephone number, mailing and e-mail addresses); (b) Financial Data (such as your credit card number); and (c) Demographic Data (such as your zip code or membership type). If you communicate with us by e-mail, post messages to any of our chat groups, bulletin boards or forums, or otherwise complete online forms, or surveys, or use our conference apps, any information provided in such communication may be collected as Personal Information.
C. Member Information Collected. Certain information on each member will be collected and maintained on the Site in membership directories. This information includes Member Contact Data (such as the name, address, e-mail address, and telephone number of your organization).
2. Uses of Information Collected
We use Personal Contact Data to send you information about America’s Credit Unions, our products and services, promotional material from some of our partners, confirmation of orders, or to contact you when necessary. We make Member Contact Data available to other members and our partners to send you promotional materials and notices. We use your Financial Data to verify your qualifications for certain products or services and to bill you for products and services. We use your Demographic Data to customize and tailor your experience on the Site; displaying content that we think you might be interested in and according to your preferences.

3. Sharing of Personal and Member Information
We currently do not sell personal information to third parties. We share Demographic Data with advertisers and other third parties only on an aggregate basis. We share Member Contact Data with other members and companies who may want to send you information about their products and services, including conference sponsors and preferred providers of CUNA Strategic Services. We may share Contact Data with companies who may want to send you information about their products or services, including conference sponsors and preferred providers of CUNA Strategic Services Corporation. If you do not want us to share your Personal Contact Data with any third parties, please e-mail our Member Service Center at hello@americascreditunions.org.
4. User Choice Regarding Collection, Use and Distribution of Personal Information
You may be entitled to request that we disclose to you personal information we have collected about you, the categories of sources from which we collected the information, the purposes of collecting the information, the categories of third parties with whom we have shared the information, and the categories of personal information that we have shared with third parties for a business purpose. In some instances, you may have the right to receive the information about you in a portable and readily usable format. Subject to certain conditions, you may be entitled to request that we delete personal information about you. Before providing any information or deleting information, we must be able to verify your identity. We will not delete personal information about you when the information is required to fulfill a legal obligation, is necessary to exercise or defend legal claims, or where we are required or permitted to retain the information by law.
You may choose not to provide us with any Personal Information. In such an event, you can still access and use portions of the Site; however, you will not be able to access and use those portions of the Site that require your Personal Information, including those portions accessible only to members. If you do not wish to receive information and promotional material from us or from some of our partners, you may e-mail our Member Service Center at hello@americascreditunions.org.
You may unsubscribe at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link or by unsubscribing in your account settings.
If you would like to appoint an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf, and that agent is not already authorized to access your account, we require you to verify your identity with us directly before we provide any requested information to your approved agent. We do not discriminate against you if you choose to exercise these rights.
5. Confidentiality and Security of Personal Information
Except as otherwise provided in this Privacy Policy, we will keep your Personal Information private and will not share it with third parties, unless such disclosure is necessary to: (a) comply with a court order or other legal process; (b) protect our rights or property; or (c) enforce our Terms of Service. Your Personal Information is stored on secure servers that are not accessible by third parties. We provide you with the capability to transmit your Personal Information via secured and encrypted channels if you use a similarly equipped web browser.
6. User Ability to Access, Update and Correct Personal Information
In order to ensure that all of your Personal Information is correct and up-to-date, if you have any questions regarding your Personal Information, or if you are in any way uncomfortable with the collection or use of your Personal Information, at any time you may visit your personal profile available through the Membership section of our Web site. Through your personal profile you may: (a) review and update your Personal Information that we have already collected; (b) choose whether or not you wish us to send you information about us, or promotional material from some of our partners; or (c) choose whether or not you wish us to share some of your Personal Information with third parties. You may also contact us directly by sending an email to hello@americascreditunions.org, by calling 1-800-356-9655 so that we may answer your questions or otherwise address your concern. Additionally, you may request information about our disclosures of certain categories of Personal Information to third parties for direct marketing purposes. Such requests must be submitted to us at hello@americascreditunions.org.
7. Credit Card Information
We do not disclose credit card account information you provide when you choose to make payment with a credit card. All credit card information is submitted to a secure clearinghouse for processing. We do not keep full credit card numbers in our database.
8. Lost or Stolen Information
We maintain physical, electronic and procedural safeguards to protect your nonpublic Information. Because there are inherent risks to confidentiality associated with the Internet, America’s Credit Unions has made substantial investment in technology to protect the Personal Information it collects. Your access to some services and content is password protected. We advise that you do not disclose your password to anyone. You are solely responsible for keeping your password confidential and secure. You understand that you are responsible for all use (including any unauthorized use) of your username and password. If your username or password is lost or stolen, or if you believe there has been unauthorized access to your account by a third party, you must notify us immediately and change your password as soon as possible. In addition, we recommend you sign out of password-protected services at the end of your session. When necessary, such as for credit card information, we use encryption, and only authorized individuals have access to your Information. This policy will be kept current on this site and we invite you to refer to it regularly.
9. Links to Other Sites
The Site contains links to other Web sites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of such Web sites. We also make discussion forums available to you. Please understand that any information that is disclosed in these areas becomes public information. We have no control over its use and you should exercise caution when deciding to disclose your Personal Information. We urge you to also visit their privacy pages.
10. How Long We Keep Personal Information
We will maintain personal information about you for as long as necessary in connection with both our and your legal rights and obligations for the purposes for which it was collected, to defend or advance legal claims, or otherwise required by applicable legal requirements.
11. Updates and Changes to Privacy Policy
We reserve the right, at any time and without notice, to add to, change, update or modify this Privacy Policy, simply by posting such change, update or modification on the Site. If we make material changes, we will post a notice on the home page of our website with a link to the revised Privacy Policy. Any such change, update or modification will be effective immediately upon posting on the Site.
