All credit union-supported candidates win Tuesday primaries
All 15 credit union-backed candidates won their primaries in Maine, Nevada, North Dakota, and South Carolina. Each candidate was supported by America’s Credit Unions PAC and the League from their state or district. Notably, credit union champion Rep. Williams Timmons, R, won his primary in South Carolina’s 4th district, backed by a $200,000 targeted advertisement campaign from America’s Credit Unions and the Carolinas Credit Union League. Rep. Timmons has been a supporter of credit unions on issues like protecting interchange, privacy and reducing regulatory burden.
Additionally, Ohio State Senator Mike Rulli, R, won the special general to fill the vacant 6th district Congressional seat left by former Rep. Bill Johnson.
Next Tuesday, June 18, Virginia and Oklahoma hold their primaries; America’s Credit Unions PAC is backing eight candidates. Georgia will also hold their runoff election Tuesday, with America’s Credit Unions PAC backing Republican Mike Dugan in the 3rd Congressional district primary.
Credit union-backed candidates have a success rate over 98% in the 2024 cycle. America’s Credit Unions’ Credit Union Elections Hub continues to track election results from the primaries through the general election.
