Bringing the credit union difference to Capitol Hill event
The ability of credit unions to meet Americans’ everyday needs and long-term goals was on display on Capitol Hill Tuesday as America’s Credit Unions’ took part in the Financial Literacy and Wealth Creation Caucus resource fair.
As one of more than 30 financial services organizations (and the only credit union organization) present, America’s Credit Unions hosted a booth, sharing resources on the credit union difference and what it means for members and communities, especially the underserved.
At the event, “Banking on the Future Through Financial Education,” caucus co-chairs Rep. Joyce Beatty, D-Ohio, and Young Kim, R-Calif., thanked those in attendance for their work prioritizing increasing financial literacy and encouraged them to go even further.
Both Kim and Beatty stopped by the America’s Credit Unions booth, where attendees could pick up copies of the credit union difference one-pager, which illustrates the $41.5 billion in annual benefits credit unions bring to consumers each year.
