California wildfires prompt regulators to highlight regulatory assistance available

Financial institutions impacted by California wildfires and straight-line winds now have more information about the regulatory assistance available from the NCUA, federal regulators, and the California Department of Financial Protection and Innovation.  The agencies released an interagency statement Tuesday providing details for affected institutions, including credit unions.

Affected institutions should contact their regulator for assistance with publishing and regulatory reporting requirements.

The agencies encourage institutions operating in the affected areas to meet the financial services needs of their communities.

A complete list of the current disaster areas can be found on the Federal Emergency Management Administration’s website.

NCUA’s Guidance for Institutions Affected by a Major Disaster is available on the agency’s website.
