CDFI Fund application webinar postponed to Feb. 8
The Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFI) Fund postponed its webinar to help organizations understand the requirements of its revised CDFI Certification Application to Feb. 8. It was originally scheduled for tomorrow.
The webinar will start at 1:30 p.m. Eastern Feb. 8 and will discuss updates to the Application FAQs, review new materials, and allow participants to ask additional questions. Registration is not required to attend the webinar.
The revised application reflects several changes CUNA and NAFCU—prior to merging into America’s Credit Unions—successfully advocated for, including addressing concerns over credit union board members not being able to serve as sources of accountability to a target market or credit unions being inappropriately excluded from certification because they use balloon mortgages as tools to serve their members.
Current CDFI-certified credit unions have until Dec. 20 to apply for recertification under the new application, and there are also 700 slots open for early recertification applications. Requests for early recertification are due through the CDFI Fund’s Awards Management Information System (AMIS), no later than 11:59 p.m. Eastern Feb. 1.
