Credit unions engage in Treasury roundtable addressing hurricane relief efforts
Credit unions and America’s Credit Unions joined other lenders in sharing efforts to help consumers and businesses affected by recent hurricanes at a U.S. Treasury roundtable held Wednesday.
Officials and panelists addressed how they are working with borrowers who face difficulties in the hurricanes’ aftermath.
Credit union Leagues and foundations—including the National Credit Union Foundation— are providing ongoing support for communities, as well as affected credit unions and employees:
- The Southeastern Credit Union Foundation (SECUF) has delivered essential supplies to those most in need, and its grant program remains open. SECUF has also launched a new Disaster Relief Community Impact Matching Grant Program;
- The Carolinas Credit Union Foundation has provided nearly $550,000 in grants to more than 600 credit union employees, and its Disaster Relief Fund is still open; and
- The National Credit Union Foundation’s CUAid program accepts contributions year-round to help aid recovery efforts and assist those in need.
