Draft legislation released to fund federal government through March 14
House Republican leadership released draft legislation Tuesday night that would fund the federal government through March 14. Without passed appropriations legislation, funding will expire at midnight Friday, Dec. 20.
The measure represents agreement between House and Senate leaders and includes additional provisions to provide disaster relief and aid to farmers.
The House is expected to vote on the measure before Friday night and the Senate should clear it shortly afterwards. If final action on the package does not happen by midnight Friday, Congress could pass a brief CR to cover the weekend or allow government funding to lapse temporarily over the weekend.
