March’s jobs report signals ‘easing pressure on inflation’
The Bureau of Labor and Statistics (BLS) released March’s jobs report Friday, noting 303,000 jobs were added and the unemployment rate rose slightly to 3.8%. Jobs gains were mostly seen in health care, government, and construction. Employment in leisure and hospitality trended up in March and has returned to its pre-pandemic February 2020 level.
“The March job report indicated a resilient economy that continues to post strong job gains despite restrictive monetary policy,” said America’s Credit Unions’ Dawit Kebede. “Moderating wage growth and increased labor force participation show a labor market coming into more demand and supply balance easing pressure on inflation.”
