A message of thanks for securing the credit union tax status
America’s Credit Unions delivered an industry thank you to members of the House just hours after the credit union tax status was not included in the budget reconciliation bill passed early Thursday morning.
“On behalf of America’s Credit Unions, state leagues, credit unions and the more than 142 million members we collectively serve – THANK YOU for securing the credit union tax status in the House budget reconciliation bill,” stated President/CEO Jim Nussle. “Your support in preserving the credit union tax status is something we will not forget.”
Credit union advocates are urged to share their thanks for protecting the credit union tax status with their members of Congress. The Don’t Tax My Credit Union “take action” content is updated to reflect the very latest developments in the legislative process. The bill now goes to the Senate, with further legislative hurdles ahead.
The thank you message followed an open letter to Congress sent Wednesday in advance of the House vote. It was signed by 617 credit union president/CEOs from across the country.
