Rep. Kim encourages support for bipartisan loan maturity bill
Rep. Young Kim, R-Calif., congratulated America’s Credit Unions on its launch and called for support of her legislation to increase federal credit union loan maturities in a video message. Kim introduced the Expanding Access to Lending Options Act Wednesday with Reps. Scott Fitzgerald, R-Wis., Juan Vargas, D-Calif., and Brad Sherman, D-Calif.
“This bipartisan bill would allow credit unions to offer more loan options, increase the maturity of loans from 15 to 20 years, and strengthen access to access to affordable credit for families, small business and students” she said.
Kim’s video of congratulations and support follows Fitzgerald’s speech Thursday on the House floor, where he thanked credit unions for serving their communities and encouraged colleagues to support the Expanding Access to Lending Options Act.
