Senate passes clean FY2025 NDAA, Biden expected to sign into law

The Senate has passed the FY2025 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) and is expected to be signed into law by President Biden shortly. Congress now only must pass a bill to fund the federal government past Dec. 20 before the end of the year.

America’s Credit Unions wrote to Congress in December and in October, urging members to reject any last-minute amendments to the bill that may be harmful to credit unions.

There was concern Congress could add legislation like the Big Box Bailout bill, NCUA regulatory oversight expansion, and others to the NDAA as a method of avoiding a direct floor vote.

America’s Credit Unions and state leagues support the exclusion of these bills and remain committed to opposing them should they be reintroduced in the 119th Congress.
