Senate votes continue on reconciliation bill
The Senate continues its overnight “vote-a-rama” on the One Big Beautiful Bill (H.R. 1) as of 7 a.m. Eastern Tuesday morning. Several changes have been made to the bill, and a final text has yet to be released.
None of the changes—adopted nor proposed—have affected the credit union tax status.
America’s Credit Unions continues to engage senators following last week’s Week of Action to ensure the credit union tax status remains untouched through negotiations. The association’s advocacy team monitored Senate action through the night.
Vice President J.D. Vance is on hand to break any tie as needed. Once the bill passes the Senate, it will then go to the House for consideration, as both chambers’ bills must be reconciled.
America’s Credit Unions will remain engaged throughout the process until a bill is signed by the president.
