Thirty PAC-supported candidates in today’s primaries
Primaries are taking place today in three states, with America’s Credit Unions PAC supporting a total of 30 candidates, including six in Maryland, 20 in New York, and four in Utah.
In Utah, the PAC is supporting former Rep. Ben McAdams, D, in his bid to return to Congress representing the 1st Congressional District, including through an independent expenditure advertising campaign. The PAC has worked closely to support and strengthen engagement for incumbent Reps. Celeste Maloy, R, and Blake Moore, R, helping amplify their outreach and connect with constituents across their districts.
Other highlights in today’s elections include:
- In Maryland, the PAC is backing state Del. Adrian Boafo, D, in his bid to succeed longtime Rep. Steny Hoyer, D, who has served in Congress since 1981 and is not seeking re-election;
- In New York, with two open seats on the ballot, the PAC is supporting state Assemblyman Micah Lasher, D, in the 12th Congressional District to succeed Rep. Jerry Nadler, who is retiring. The PAC is also backing state Assemblyman Robert Smullen, R, in the 21st Congressional District as Rep. Elise Stefanik prepares to vacate her seat.
Later this week in Louisiana, the PAC is focused on a Saturday runoff, supporting Rep. Julia Letlow, R, in the Republican Senate primary as she seeks to advance following Sen. Bill Cassidy’s primary loss.
