This week: Congress in town, comments due on NCUA proposals
Both chambers of Congress are in Washington, D.C., this week with one week to go until federal government funding expires Sept. 30.
House Republicans unveiled legislation Sunday to fund the government through Dec. 20, with a mid-week floor vote possible.
America’s Credit Unions is engaging with committee activity throughout the week, and Leagues and credit unions from several states are on Capitol Hill meeting with legislators.
Comments are due this week on regulatory proposals including:
- Monday: NCUA proposed rule on succession planning, which would require federally insured credit unions to establish a written succession plan for certain positions; and
- Tuesday: NCUA proposal to revise and extend the Credit Union Profile Form 4501A for three years.
In addition, registration is still open for an NCUA webinar Thursday on credit union accounting.
The House Financial Services Committee conducts a hearing on the Federal Housing Finance Agency Thursday at 10 a.m. Eastern.
Outside Washington, America’s Credit Unions’ Compliance and Risk Council Conference kicks off Tuesday in Chicago.
