This week: Keeping CU difference top of mind during Week of Action
Credit unions are geared up for the Don’t Tax My Credit Union Week of Action, a focused grassroots outreach effort kicking off today. The purpose: keep the credit union tax status off the table as the reconciliation package goes into its final stages in the Senate. With a simple three step action plan, America’s Credit Unions, leagues, and credit unions across the country will engage lawmakers with a unified voice through various efforts.

Additionally, the House is scheduled to consider H.R. 2808, the Homebuyers Privacy Protection Act, an America’s Credit Unions-backed bill to combat abusive mortgage trigger leads, this week.
America’s Credit Unions will be engaging with lawmakers ahead of several hearings of note this week:
- Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell presents the Fed’s Semi-Annual Monetary Policy Report to Congress before the House Financial Services Committee on Tuesday and the Senate Banking Committee on Wednesday;
- Tuesday, a Senate Banking Subcommittee tackles legislative frameworks for digital asset market structure; and
- Thursday, a House Financial Services Subcommittee is scheduled to examine regulatory actions of the CFPB under former director Rohit Chopra.
