Bakari Sellers to Address America’s Credit Unions Congressional Caucus
Bakari Sellers, a former member of the South Carolina House of Representatives, distinguished political commentator, attorney, and a two-time New York Times bestselling author, will be the closing keynote speaker at America’s Credit Unions’ Congressional Caucus. The event will be held from September 8-11 in Washington, D.C., providing credit union professionals the opportunity to engage directly with lawmakers.
“Bakari Sellers is a speaker our members can relate to and will be inspired by his story,” said America’s Credit Unions President/CEO Jim Nussle. “From The start of his career at the South Carolina state house as the youngest legislator in state history, to becoming a voice folks seek out to help shape culture movements – like his father before him – is laudable. His life-long efforts mirror the credit union mission of helping and fighting for the people and communities they serve.”
This year’s event is the first Congressional Caucus organized as America’s Credit Unions, formed via the merger of National Association of Federally-Insured Credit Unions (NAFCU) and Credit Union National Association (CUNA). Held at the Hyatt Regency Washington on Capitol Hill, the event brings together voices across the political spectrum and will feature discussions on key legislative and regulatory issues affecting credit unions, providing a platform for advocacy and dialogue. America’s Credit Unions is non-partisan and remains committed to supporting credit union champions.
