All 17 credit union-supported candidates won in primary elections Tuesday in Iowa, Montana, New Jersey, New Mexico, and South Dakota. Each candidate was supported by America’s Credit Unions PAC and the League from their state or district.

Two credit-union backed candidates won primaries for an open seat. Rep. Andy Kim, D-N.J., won his primary in New Jersey to succeed Sen. Bob Menendez, D-N.J., who has chosen to run for re-election as an independent after being indicted for corruption. Additionally, Montana state auditor, Troy Downing, earned the GOP nomination for Montana’s 2nd District.

The next round of primaries takes place June 11, with credit unions backing 16 candidates in five states – Maine, Nevada, North Dakota, and South Carolina.

Credit union-supported candidates are winning at a 98% rate so far in the 2024 cycle. America’s Credit Unions’ Credit Union Elections Hub will track election results from the primaries through the general election, updated after each primary.
