Credit union-backed candidates win in Tuesday’s primaries

All seven credit union-supported candidates won in Tuesday’s primary elections in Maryland, Nebraska, and West Virginia.

The primaries included elections for six open seats: four in the House and two in the Senate. In Maryland, the America’s Credit Unions PAC supported candidate Johnny “O” Olszewski Jr. to replace retiring incumbent Dutch Ruppersberger in the state’s 2nd Congressional District. Olszewski won with 78% of the vote.

The organization will continue to update credit unions on relevant elections; the next set of primaries take place in Georgia, Idaho, Kentucky, and Oregon next Tuesday.
