The America’s Credit Unions February Economic Update is now available, featuring a breakout session from the 2024 Governmental Affairs Conference (GAC). The presentation was led by America’s Credit Unions Economic Research Team: Mike Schenk, Dawit Kebede, Ligia Vado, and Curt Long.
The session begins with an update from Schenk stressing the importance of advocacy at America’s Credit Unions, in addition to a brief overview of data developed by the organization that demonstrates the value credit unions provide to everyday Americans. Next, Kebede provides a breakdown of relevant developments related to the macroeconomic landscape from Kebede.
Vado outlines how the latest macroeconomic developments will impact credit union members and consumers. Long closes out the session by tying all the topics together to explain how the macroeconomic developments and the effect on consumers and members will impact credit unions and the regulatory and supervisory environment.
