This week: America’s Credit Unions’ advocacy on regulatory hot topics ramps up

This week, America’s Credit Unions will continue to relentlessly advocate on behalf of credit unions as several hot topics will be discussed on the Hill and at regulatory agencies.

The Senate Banking Committee will conduct a hearing Thursday at 10 a.m. Eastern, “Consumer Protection: Examining Fees in Financial Services and Rental Housing.”

Also, Apple Federal Credit Union President/CEO Andrew Grimm will represent the industry and participate in a panel discussion at a hearing on airline and credit card rewards hosted by the CFPB and Department of Transportation. The event, happening Thursday at 10 a.m. Eastern, will be available via livestream on the CFPB’s website

The organization also continues its fierce advocacy against the Federal Reserve’s debit interchange proposal. America’s Credit Unions encourages all Leagues, credit unions, and other stakeholders to submit comments on the proposal, due May 12. Comments can be submitted to the Fed via the Fed’s Electronic Comment form or by email at regs.comments@federalreserve.gov
