This week: CFPB director to testify, primaries in 4 states

The House and Senate are both in Washington, D.C., this week, and America’s Credit Unions will be engaged on multiple credit union priorities.

CFPB Director Rohit Chopra is scheduled to make his semi-annual testimony before the Senate Banking Committee Wednesday and the House Financial Services Committee Thursday. Both hearings will be streamed live on the committee websites.

America’s Credit Unions, its PAC, and state Leagues will be involved in primary elections Tuesday in Maine, Nevada, North Dakota, South Carolina, supporting credit union champions leading up to November’s elections and the 119th Congress.

Credit union-backed candidates are winning at a 98% rate as of June 4 and a complete list of primary results as of June 4 can be found at the Credit Union Elections Hub.

The Federal Open Market Committee is also scheduled to meet June 11-12.

Also of note, America’s Credit Unions’ Digital Marketing School gets underway in Nashville  today. Attendees will learn to track emerging trends and the evolving digital marketing landscape with thought leaders from inside and outside the credit union industry.

Registration is still open for the NCUA’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Summit, scheduled for July 9-11 in Minneapolis. Attendees will explore the value proposition of diversity, equity, and inclusion in the credit union industry and at the NCUA, share best practices, develop solutions to industry-specific challenges, and network.
