Both chambers of Congress return to Washington, D.C., this week, and America’s Credit Unions will be engaged on several fronts to advance credit union priorities.
Scheduled for this week:
- The House Ways and Means Committee will conduct a hearing with Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen Tuesday starting at 10 a.m. Eastern;
- The House Small Business Committee will conduct a hearing, “Under the Microscope: Examining FinCEN’s Implementation of the Corporate Transparency Act” Tuesday at 10 a.m. Eastern;
- The House Financial Services Committee will conduct a hearing Wednesday on federal regulators’ merger policies starting at 10 a.m. Eastern;
- Applications for low-income designated credit unions for the first round of NCUA’s Community Development Revolving Loan Fund (CDRLF) grants open Wednesday;
- The Senate Banking Committee will conduct a hearing Thursday titled “How Shrinkflation and Technology Impact Consumers’ Finances;” and
- NCUA will conduct a webinar Thursday on the CDRLF grants, where staff will share information about the application process.
