This week: Congress returns, CDRLF grant round opens

Both chambers of Congress return to Washington, D.C., this week, and America’s Credit Unions will be engaged on several fronts to advance credit union priorities.

Scheduled for this week:

  • The House Ways and Means Committee will conduct a hearing with Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen Tuesday starting at 10 a.m. Eastern;
  • The House Small Business Committee will conduct a hearing, “Under the Microscope: Examining FinCEN’s Implementation of the Corporate Transparency Act” Tuesday at 10 a.m. Eastern;
  • The House Financial Services Committee will conduct a hearing Wednesday on federal regulators’ merger policies starting at 10 a.m. Eastern;
  • Applications for low-income designated credit unions for the first round of NCUA’s Community Development Revolving Loan Fund (CDRLF) grants open Wednesday;
  • The Senate Banking Committee will conduct a hearing Thursday titled “How Shrinkflation and Technology Impact Consumers’ Finances;” and
  • NCUA will conduct a webinar Thursday on the CDRLF grants, where staff will share information about the application process.
