This week: Congressional Caucus kicks off a week of engagement with lawmakers, regulators
Congressional Caucus kicked off last night, with hundreds of credit union advocates in Washington, D.C. to take part in impactful sessions, network with peers, and meet with lawmakers on credit union priorities.
Today’s fireside chat has America’s Credit Unions President/CEO Jim Nussle and incoming President/CEO Scott Simpson sharing the stage to discuss the future of credit unions and the strength of the industry’s unified voice. Keynote speakers and breakout sessions will round out the day’s events.
Tomorrow brings a lineup of lawmakers in leadership and key committees, including House Majority Leader Steve Scalise, R-La. Stay tuned to America’s Credit Unions’ social channels and weekly news coverage for updates on Congressional Caucus throughout the week.
Advocacy efforts are underway with the fiscal year 2026 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). As lawmakers add amendments for consideration in both chambers, advocates are working to ensure credit union priorities are included—and harmful provisions are excluded as the bill moves forward.
There’s a special election in Virginia tomorrow, and credit unions are supporting James Walkinshaw to fill the vacancy left by the death of Congressman Gerry Connolly.
