Credit union-backed Van Epps wins Tennessee special election

Credit union-backed Matt Van Epps, R, won Tuesday’s special election to represent Tennessee’s 7th Congressional District, in the race against Democrat Aftyn Behn. Van Epps will fill the seat left open by Rep. Mark Green, R, who resigned in July.

Van Epps was supported by America’s Credit Unions PAC and the Tennessee Credit Union League. He served as commissioner of the Tennessee Department of General Services before resigning to run for Congress.
