OMB director requests $145M to fund CFPB through Q2

Office of Management and Budget Director Russ Vought has submitted a $145 million request to the Federal Reserve to fund the functions of the CFPB through the second quarter of this year. This request follows a December ruling against the administration’s argument that the Fed could not fund the CFPB.

The administration previously said that the bureau would run out of funds in early Q2, as it could not request additional funds while the Fed was operating at a loss.

America’s Credit Unions continues to engage with the CFPB on support reforms to the CFPB’s structure and funding process, emphasizing the importance of congressional oversight and greater accountability.
