The House Rules Committee Monday advanced the Senate-passed package to fund the federal government, setting up a potential House floor vote today that would send legislation to end the partial government shutdown to the president.
The package contains five full FY26 appropriations bills, Financial Services and General Government, Defense, Labor-Health and Human Services-Education, Transportation-Housing and Urban Development, State and Foreign Operations) and funds the Department of Homeland Security for two weeks under a continuing resolution for the Department. The House is expected to have the votes to pass the measure after a meeting between the President and key Republicans at the White House Monday night.
