Provide feedback on NCUA’s deregulatory proposals
Comment deadlines are approaching for several of NCUA’s deregulatory proposals, and America’s Credit Unions’ latest Regulatory Comments provide the details.
The agency’s comment deadline for each proposal is Feb. 27. There are earlier deadlines to submit comments to America’s Credit Unions. This feedback will help inform its comment letter on behalf of member credit unions.
Accuracy of Advertising and Notice of Insured Status
To streamline regulations governing advertising and the notice of insured status by amending two sections of Part 740 to reduce regulatory complexity and administrative burden for federally insured credit unions, while providing greater flexibility in advertising practices. Comments can be sent to America’s Credit Unions by Feb. 11.
Limits on Loans to Other Credit Unions
To remove the regulations related to a credit union board of directors’ approval of and written policies on making loans to other credit unions. Comments can be sent to America’s Credit Unions by Feb. 13.
Suretyship and Guaranty; Segregated Deposit and Collateral
To remove the segregated deposit and collateral requirements when a federally insured credit union acts as a surety and guarantor. Comments can be sent to America’s Credit Unions by Feb. 13.
These deadlines related to the second round of proposals issued by the NCUA as part of the Deregulation Project, the agency has subsequently issued two additional groups of proposals, with comments on those due in March.
