Georgia credit union leaders share stories, priorities
Ensuring America’s Credit Unions is hearing the latest from member credit unions, President/CEO Scott Simpson met with credit union leaders in Atlanta last week. The League of Credit Unions President Samantha Beeler and America’s Credit Unions senior leaders also participated in the discussions on how the league system can improve the environment in which credit unions operate.
"Thank you to the Georgia credit union leaders, and The League, who took time to share with me their perspectives on the state of our movement and their needs,” Simpson said. “Being able to meet directly with CEOs provides tremendous insights that help shape our unified advocacy and guide our strategies. Conversations like these reinforce the strength of collaboration and cooperation throughout the system."
Simpson emphasized continued collaboration with The League and America’s Credit Unions to collect and amplify stories of credit union service to members. The credit unions shared input on the impact and costs of fraud, the importance of regulatory relief, and other advocacy priorities at the federal and state level.
The Georgia visits followed meetings with small, midsize, and large credit unions in North Carolina and South Carolina with the Carolinas Credit Union League. He continues to meet with leagues and credit union leaders of all asset sizes to ensure continued feedback on the environment credit unions are operating in, including opportunities and challenges.
