Today: Credit union champions in primaries across six states

With primaries underway today in Alabama, Georgia, Idaho, Kentucky, Oregon, and Pennsylvania, America’s Credit Unions PAC is supporting a broad slate of candidates. That includes four in Alabama, ten in Georgia, three in Idaho, six in Kentucky, six in Oregon, and 12 in Pennsylvania.

Today’s primaries feature several high-profile and open-seat races in Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, and Pennsylvania that will be closely monitored.

• Amid an ongoing redistricting battle in Alabama, the PAC is backing state Rep. Rhett Marques in his campaign for the 1st Congressional District. America's Credit Unions is partnering with The League of Credit Unions in a member communication campaign targeting credit union members with digital ads supporting Marques;
• In Georgia, the PAC is supporting state Rep. Houston Gaines in the 10th Congressional District, and Rob Adkerson, former chief of staff to retiring Rep. Barry Loudermilk, in the 11th Congressional District;
• In Kentucky, the PAC is backing Rep. Andy Barr in his bid for the U.S. Senate seat being vacated by Sen. Mitch McConnell. In the state’s 6th Congressional District, the PAC is supporting former Kentucky State Senator Ralph Alvarado in the race to succeed Barr in the House; and 
• In Pennsylvania’s 3rd Congressional District, currently held by retiring Rep. Dwight Evans, the PAC is supporting state Sen. Sharif Street, a strong advocate for credit unions in the state legislature.
