ACTIONS YOU CAN TAKE

Grassroots Action Center

We’ve made it easy to reach out to your federal lawmakers and keep them aware of key issues and legislation affecting credit unions. With pre-composed emails that highlight our stance on a variety of issues, we ask for their support or opposition. It’s an easy way to make your voice heard.

Right now, addressing affordability is a top priority for President Donald Trump and Congress. But several efforts underway would reduce access to safe, affordable credit and ultimately harm consumers' financial well-being. For resources, including talking points and data, related to proposals to cap credit card interest rates at 10% and impose government mandates on credit card processing, visit our Member Activation Program

Who should participate? Some issues require large-scale engagement while others are more targeted. We use the terms Grassroots and Grasstops to distinguish the two.

Grassroots is an advocacy strategy to motivate as many members/consumers as possible  to directly contact their lawmakers, ensuring the message is “heard loud and clear on Capitol Hill.”

Grasstops advocacy is a targeted approach that focuses on specific groups, like CEOs and Board Members, to contact their lawmakers or specific committees.
