AI in the Boardroom Pre-Conference Workshop

Sunday, January 18, 2026

This workshop introduces directors of credit union boards to both the immediate uses and the long-term implications of AI.

We will explore hands-on use cases of Generative AI that show how tools like ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, and Google NotebookLM can improve productivity, streamline board operations, and support key credit union functions.

We will then shift to the broader perspective:

  • How should boards evaluate opportunities and risks as AI becomes more integrated into credit union strategy and operations?
  • What questions should directors be asking to ensure that AI initiatives align with mission, business model, long-term goals, and regulatory expectations?

Participants will leave with a clear understanding of:

  • What AI can do today
  • How it fits into their oversight role
  • How to guide responsible adoption that delivers sustained value

Learning goals:

  • Develop a hands-on understanding of AI tools through guided, board-specific use cases that enhance productivity and decision-making.
  • Use your existing knowledge of credit union operations to identify where AI is most likely to be implemented and where it can add real value.
  • Leave with a clear framework for evaluating AI opportunities based on strategic fit, member value, and potential for long-term competitive advantage.
Note: Please bring your laptop!
