Overview

Where policy meets purpose — and you belong in the room

Every policy win starts with presence. Your voice is essential to protecting the credit union tax status—and your insight will be key to shaping a stronger future for our industry.

Every policy outcome begins with presence. At Congressional Caucus, you’ll meet directly with lawmakers, participate in closed-door discussions, and align on a shared federal agenda that advances credit union priorities and protects the credit union tax status.

Just steps from Capitol Hill, this experience delivers access, intelligence, and strategic clarity.

Through high-level briefings and real-time coordination, you’ll gain the insight and positioning needed to navigate what’s unfolding in the U.S. Congress and across the broader landscape of federal legislation.

Who should attend

Congressional Caucus is designed for those who operate at the intersection of advocacy and institutional strategy. If your role involves representing, influencing, or advancing credit union interests, this is your platform. This event is built for:

  • Credit union CEOs integrating national policy into organizational planning and aligning with evolving federal policy.
  • Advocacy, governmental affairs, and compliance professionals shaping legislative engagement and advising internal stakeholders on regulatory compliance.
  • Board members providing strategic oversight on public policy matters and participating in high-level congressional meetings.
  • League executives and senior communicators driving visibility, mobilization, and leading efforts in credit union advocacy.

What you’ll gain

Each component of Congressional Caucus is designed to equip you with tools that support effective advocacy at the federal level. The experience is structured to deliver clarity, access, and strategic alignment, including:

  • Direct engagement with lawmakers and regulators in a policy-driven environment in Washington, DC
  • Timely briefings on legislation, agency priorities, and regulatory trends affecting the financial services sector
  • Messaging strategies designed for credibility with congressional offices and agency staff
  • Coordinated Hill Hikes that optimize your time with lawmakers on Capitol Hill and increase advocacy return
  • Strategic connections with executive and advocacy leaders navigating similar policy landscapes and building strong national advocacy networks

Schedule

Schedule Highlights

Welcome to Washington!

Pick up your badge and materials at the Registration & Resource Center, then head to the rooftop for the Welcome Reception at The Capital View at 400. Connect with fellow advocates and take in the city as Congressional Caucus officially begins.

A full day of advocacy, insights, and connection.

Start your day with breakfast and welcoming remarks before moving into three high-level general sessions focused on today’s most pressing federal issues.

Enjoy structured networking throughout the day in the Regency Ballroom and foyer spaces, including during scheduled breaks and a lunch that honors this year’s grassroots award recipient.

The morning general sessions include a featured address by political strategist Stephanie Cutter, followed by two panel discussions focused on effective lobbying and the Don't Tax My Credit Union campaign.

In the afternoon, choose from three focused breakout sessions:

  • Why a Grassroots Program is a Win-Win for Credit Unions — learn how to activate members and build engagement
  • We’re All In This Together — explore the growing impact of state laws on all credit union operations
  • PAC, Politics & Participation — discover how political engagement strengthens your advocacy (PAC permission required)

Later in the day, Kellyanne Conway joins us for a fireside chat offering insights into today’s political landscape and advocacy opportunities.

End the evening at an invite-only PAC fundraiser at Bistro du Jour on Capitol Hill for attendees with valid PAC clearance.

Where policy meets purpose.

Begin with breakfast and a Washington update, then hear directly from members of Congress and administration officials during a focused general session.

In the afternoon, meet with lawmakers on Capitol Hill, in coordination with your state league, to discuss credit union priorities in scheduled meetings.

Close out the experience at the Congressional Reception alongside peers and policymakers before heading home with renewed purpose.
