Compliance Blog looks at commercial real estate, voting in FCU elections, and more
The Compliance Team at America’s Credit Unions updates the Compliance Blog every Tuesday and Thursday with entries covering current topics of interest to members. The latest entries cover key definitions under the NCUA’s commercial real estate regulations, answering if minors could vote in FCU elections, and a discussion on the CFPB affirming which disclosures apply under Regulation Z.
- “Love It or List It” examines the current commercial real estate market downturn and specifically breaks down the NCUA’s regulation on the requirements for when a federal credit union must partially occupy or sell excess space if the federal credit union isn’t using it and what to do if a credit union is unable to do so;
- “The Minor Vote” answers the question if minors, who are members of a federal credit union, are entitled to vote in federal credit union elections and hold a share account; and
- “CFPB Affirms That Some Disclosures are Only for Credit Card Accounts” looks at the result of the CFPB siding with a financial institution in Lopezx v. Bank of Orrick, et al. The case looked at disclosure requirements under Regulation Z and the Truth in Lending Act (TILA).
