Credit unions support Rep. Fitzpatrick with direct mail, digital advertising

Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick, R-Pa., a stalwart supporter of credit unions since elected in 2016, has the full support of America’s Credit Unions, its PAC, and the CrossState Credit Union Association.

“We’re proud to partner with the CrossState Credit Union Association to support our mission of filling the halls of Congress with credit union champions,” said America’s Credit Unions Head of Political Affairs Trey Hawkins. “Rep. Fitzpatrick has been outspoken on policies that help credit unions act purely in the interest of their members. He met with America’s Credit Unions President/CEO Jim Nussle on Capitol Hill earlier this year and gave a speech on the House floor to expand credit unions’ lending options. We look forward to continuing our work with him next Congress.”

CrossState President/CEO Patrick Conway highlighted Fitzpatrick’s track record of support for credit unions.

“We proudly support Congressman Fitzpatrick for his unwavering commitment to credit unions,” said Conway. “His advocacy for financial inclusion and community-focused banking has greatly benefited our members and communities. We are grateful for his continued partnership and dedication.”

America’s Credit Unions, its PAC, and the CrossState Credit Union Association will support Fitzpatrick with a $400,000 independent expenditure for:

  • Direct mail; and
  • Digital ads.

Fitzpatrick serves on the House Ways and Means Committee, where his role on the committee will be key when credit unions gear up to fight to keep the industry’s critical federal tax exemption status intact when provisions in the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act sunset next year.

Additionally, Fitzpatrick introduced several bipartisan credit union-supported bills this Congress, including a bill to increase member business lending and loan maturity flexibility, and a bill to exempt loans made to veteran-owned businesses from the member business lending cap.
