Federal government funding set to expire at midnight

With funding for the federal government lapsing at 12 a.m. Eastern Saturday, both chambers of Congress need to pass—and President Joe Biden needs to sign—legislation to avoid a government shutdown.

Late Thursday the House voted down proposed legislation that would have funded the federal government into mid-March and suspended the debt ceiling until January 2027.

America’s Credit Unions will provide credit unions with resources to support members through a government shutdown and provide updates on funding discussions.
