The Inclusiv Center for Resiliency and Clean Energy officially launched its $1.87 billion Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund (GGRF) Clean Communities Investment Accelerator (CCIA) green lending grant program.
Credit unions can submit a pre-qualification form before Wednesday, Dec. 18 at 5 p.m. Eastern. Future pre-qualification rounds are planned for credit unions unable to complete the form by the initial deadline.
The program is designed to help credit unions and cooperatives offer affordable green loans to low-income and disadvantaged communities (LIDACs) expects to provide more than 300 credit unions with grants ranging from $275,000 to $11 million.
Earlier this month the Michigan Credit Union League joined with state credit unions to celebrate Inclusiv’s GGRF award. Representatives from four Michigan credit unions gave presentations on their respective credit unions’ ongoing energy-based lending programs to provide a roadmap for credit unions interested in utilizing the grant program.
America’s Credit Unions previously wrote in support in April of credit union inclusion in the GGRF. The letter noted that credit unions are best equipped to distribute funds through their communities.
