Leagues, CU advocates talk fraud, financial education, and more with policymakers

Credit unions and Leagues are connecting with members of Congress while they’re in home districts leading up to the Nov. 5 election, focused on key credit union concerns.

The Dakota Credit Union Association met with Sen. Mike Rounds, R-S.D., at a recent event in South Dakota. Rounds — the ranking member of the Senate Banking Subcommittee on Securities, Insurance, and Investment — has supported credit union priorities during his time in Congress, including website accessibility, clarity, and clarifying CFPB authorities.

Arkansas Best Federal Credit Union and the Cornerstone League welcomed Rep. Steve Womack, R-Ark., to discuss credit union priorities and share what the credit union difference means, especially in terms of financial education for members.

In-district meetings extend to state candidates, as the Indiana Credit Union League connected with state legislators at an event hosted by Corporate One Federal Credit Union in South Bend, Ind.
