Petros recognized for advocacy success, innovation
As someone who has changed the credit union industry where it matters most, America’s Credit Unions’ Vice President of Policy Engagement and Credit Union Operations Ann Petros received the “Rising Star” award in the 2024 Credit Union Times Luminaries Awards. The awards honor individuals and groups that “have significantly enhanced the not-for-profit financial cooperative landscape and recognizes those that have raised the bar within the credit union sphere, by driving positive change and inspiring others to follow suit.”
“America’s Credit Unions sends a big congratulations to all the CU Times Luminaries finalists and winners, including our very own Ann Petros!” said America’s Credit Unions President/CEO Jim Nussle. “The best of our industry was represented in this deserving group of diverse credit union champions who fight for safe, sound, and secure financial services for more than 140 million Americans every day. Our industry is proud of the folks who work side-by-side with their members to achieve their financial goals and live their best lives.”
Petros — previously Head of Regulatory Advocacy at America’s Credit Unions — has led the organization and the movement to advocacy successes – including regulatory changes to pandemic-era loan modifications, specific provisions in NCUA's proposed field of membership rule, and supporting credit union interests with impactful amicus briefs filed at all levels of the judiciary.
CU Times received nearly 200 nominations for 24 awards this year.
