‘Reconciliation 3.0’ advances without tax instructions
The House Budget Committee Thursday advanced a fiscal year 2027 budget resolution focused on strengthening the military, elections, and food supply. No instructions related to tax issues were included in the resolution. America's Credit Unions remains engaged with lawmakers to ensure they understand and recognize the value of credit unions as they consider provisions.
America's Credit Unions, Leagues, and credit unions have successfully kept the credit union tax status secure through previous budget reconciliation efforts, including last year's campaign that saw more than 861,000 contacts with offices in support of the not-for-profit status.
America’s Credit Unions has also launched "Once Upon an American Dream," a national policymaker influence campaign targeting federal policymakers with a sustained message on the economic role credit unions play in American communities.
As lawmakers discuss reconciliation provisions, America's Credit Unions will keep credit unions informed of developments.
