World Credit Union Conference kicks off in Boston
The 2024 World Credit Union Conference (WCUC) kicked off Sunday in Boston, hosted jointly by America’s Credit Unions and the World Council of Credit Unions. More than 2,500 are in attendance from 57 countries for the event, the first WCUC held in America since 2015.
America’s Credit Unions Transition Board chair—and Chartway Credit Union President/CEO—Brian Schools welcomed attendees from the main stage Sunday night. He called being a part of the transformation into America’s Credit Unions a highlight of his career and shared a brief update on the organization.
“One of the first things we did as a board was create a mission for the new organization: to advocate for and advance an environment where credit unions thrive,” Schools said. “And it’s through living this mission that we can accomplish America’s Credit Unions’ vision: People everywhere trust and partner with credit unions to help them afford and achieve their best lives.”
Schools also noted the partnership with the World Credit Union Council is “invaluable” and praised the collaboration between the organizations in building the event.
