Credit unions were involved with 87 primaries in five states on Super Tuesday in Alabama, Arkansas, California, North Carolina and Texas. All but one candidate was victorious, with the primary of credit union-backed Rep. David Valadao, R-Calif., yet to be called.
Candidates were supported by the America’s Credit Unions PAC and Leagues.
Credit union-supported Rep. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., and Republican Steve Garvey advanced over Reps. Katie Porter and Barbara Lee in two elections Tuesday: One to see who will run in the upcoming special election to fill the remainder of the late Sen. Dianne Feinstein’s term, the other to see who will face off in November for election to a full six-year term. Schiff and Garvey will face off in both elections.
