Inclusiv, a national association for community development credit unions, was awarded a $1.87 billion grant through the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund (GGRF) Clean Communities Investment Accelerator.

In their press release, Inclusiv noted the grant will enable “credit unions to deliver energy efficiency, electrification, and solar access to consumers, homeowners and small businesses to reduce carbon emissions and generate clean energy in their homes, transportation and businesses.”

America’s Credit Unions’ legacy organizations expressed support for including credit unions, and the organizations that represent them, to be included in the GGRF. The organizations noted that credit unions are best equipped to distribute funds through their communities.

The GGRF is a $27 billion competitive grant program to support the capacity of community development financial institutions (CDFIs), minority depository institutions, credit unions, and others to finance cost-saving and pollution-reducing clean technology projects.

America’s Credit Unions will continue advocating for credit union inclusion in important programs.
