This week: Congress out, deregulatory comments due today
Congress is out this week for the Memorial Day recess, with the Senate having left town before clearing the reconciliation 2.0 bill. Negotiations are expected to resume when Congress returns to D.C.
Today, comments are due on the eighth round of NCUA’s Deregulation Project, which would eliminate net-worth-based concentration limits tied to purchases of indirect vehicle loans facilitated by any one third-party servicer.
Last week, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) extended the original May 26 comment deadline on its proposal adding requirements for telecommunications providers that use offshore call centers. Comments are now due June 2.
Also today, runoff elections will be held in Texas. America’s Credit Unions PAC is supporting Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, in the Republican Senate runoff, and former Hill staffer Tom Sell in the runoff in the 19th Congressional District.
