Treasury launches Trump Accounts mobile app
Consumers now have access to the Trump Accounts app following Treasury’s launch this week. The app, available on all major mobile app stores, is the main interface to access the government-backed, tax-advantaged investment accounts for children, created by H.R. 1.
The next phase of the Trump Accounts program will include account activation ahead of the official launch on July 4. According to Treasury, parents and legal guardians who have already signed their children up for the accounts by submitting IRS Form 4547 will receive emails with instructions to complete the account setup process between now and July 4.
Credit unions are authorized institutions to ultimately rollover Trump Accounts to financial institutions, and America’s Credit Unions filed comments with the Internal Revenue Service earlier this month to ensure credit union parity in operational rules.
