AI in the Boardroom Pre-Conference Workshop

This session introduces credit union boards of directors to the potential of AI through two complementary lenses: immediate, practical application and long-term strategic integration. First, we will explore hands-on use cases of Generative AI that show how tools like ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, and Google NotebookLM can improve productivity, streamline board operations, and support key credit union functions. Then, we will shift to the broader perspective: How should boards evaluate opportunities and risks as AI becomes more integrated into credit union strategy and operations? What questions should directors be asking to ensure that AI initiatives align with mission, business model, long-term goals, and regulatory expectations? Participants will leave with a clear understanding of what AI can do today, how it fits into their oversight role, and how to guide responsible adoption that delivers sustained value.
