This week: Senate out, markup of CTR threshold bill
The House is in Washington, D.C., while the Senate is back in home states for a district work period this week. Several items of importance to credit unions are on the schedule during the holiday week.
Wednesday, the House Financial Services Committee will conduct its oversight hearing of the Department of Housing and Urban Development and Federal Housing Administration.
The House Financial Services Committee is also expected to mark up a series of bills starting Thursday at 10 a.m. Eastern, including a credit union-backed bill to raise the reporting threshold for Currency Transaction Reports.
Also on Thursday, the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform will conduct a hearing on housing affordability, starting at 2 p.m. Eastern.
The NCUA board will meet Thursday to receive a briefing on federal credit unio board member childcare reimbursement.
Registration is still open for the Government Affairs Conference 2026, where the credit union movement will gather in Washington March 1-5 to help shape the future of the credit union movement.
